Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This policy explains what information ankitai.online collects, why, and what you can do about it. I keep it simple: I collect only what I need to reply to you, do the work you ask for and improve this site — and I never sell your data.

1. Who I am

ankitai.online is the website of Ankit Rai (ANKITAI), an independent developer and digital marketer based in India, working with clients across the country. For this policy, I am the “data fiduciary” — the person who decides how your personal data is used.

2. What I collect

Only what you choose to give me, plus a little anonymous usage data:

  • Enquiries — the contact, website-enquiry and free-sample forms: your name, email, phone, business name and what you tell me about your project.
  • Ads onboarding — business and contact details, your goals, target areas and budgets, so I can set up your campaigns.
  • WhatsApp — when you message my WhatsApp Business number: your WhatsApp number, profile name and messages, so I can reply. I send WhatsApp updates (for example a reply to your enquiry, an invoice or a fee reminder) only to people who gave me their number; tell me to stop and I will.
  • Newsletter — your email address (and name, if you give it).
  • Blog comments — your name, email and comment; the email is never shown publicly.
  • Usage data — pages visited, buttons clicked, the website you came from (just its domain) and whether you're on a phone or computer. My own analytics stores no IP addresses or names.
  • Technical data — your IP address is used briefly to stop spam and abuse (rate limiting) and isn't linked to your profile.

3. How I use it

  • To reply to you and prepare quotes, samples and proposals.
  • To deliver, support and fix the work you hire me for.
  • To send the newsletter — only if you signed up, are an ads-onboarding client, or I emailed your business where the law allows it; every issue has a one-click unsubscribe.
  • To understand which pages help people, and to measure my own ads on Google and Meta.
  • To keep the site secure and free of spam.

I use your data on the basis of your consent (forms and newsletter), to perform a contract with you, and for legitimate uses allowed by law such as security.

4. Outreach to businesses

I sometimes contact businesses that don't yet have a website, using details they publish on Google Maps (business name, category, area, phone, rating). I may prepare a free website preview page for them, and I note when that page is opened so I can follow up at a sensible time. I may email the business or send one WhatsApp message and one follow-up to its listed number. Every outreach email has a one-click unsubscribe, and on WhatsApp you can reply NO or STOP; once you opt out, I don't contact you again. If you'd like your business's preview removed, just tell me.

5. Cookies & analytics

  • Essential — a login cookie for the admin area, and a cookie that remembers when you unlock a password-protected case study.
  • Preferences — your light / dark theme choice, stored in your browser.
  • Analytics & ads — Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) and the Meta Pixel help me see how the site is used and measure my ads. Google and Meta may set their own cookies; you can block them in your browser or with an ad-blocker, and the site still works.

6. Who it's shared with

I don't sell or rent your data. It's processed only by the services that run this site, each for that purpose:

  • Hosting and database providers (the site runs on Vercel).
  • Google — Gmail for email, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Maps / Places data.
  • Meta — the Meta Pixel, and WhatsApp (the WhatsApp Business Platform) when we message each other.
  • Payment providers, if you pay online for a project.
  • Authorities, only if the law requires it.

Some of these services may process data outside India, under their own privacy and security commitments.

7. How long it's kept

  • Enquiries and client records — as long as we're working together, and afterwards as long as needed for support, accounts and legal reasons.
  • Newsletter — until you unsubscribe (I keep your address on an opt-out list so you're never re-added).
  • Analytics — aggregated page data without personal details.

You can ask me to delete your data at any time (see below).

8. Security

The site runs over HTTPS, the admin area is protected by login with hashed passwords, and access to your data is limited to me. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care and will tell you promptly if something affects your data.

9. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can:

  • Ask what personal data I hold about you and how it's used.
  • Ask me to correct, complete or update it.
  • Withdraw consent and ask me to delete it.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
  • Raise a grievance with me, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if you're not satisfied.

If you're outside India, you have the rights your local law gives you, and I'll honour them in the same way.

10. Children

This site is for businesses and adults. I don't knowingly collect data from children under 18; if you think a child has shared details, tell me and I'll delete them.

11. Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be shown on the site.

12. Contact & grievances

For any privacy question, request or complaint, write to me through the contact page or WhatsApp. I'm the grievance officer for this site — Ankit Rai — and I'll respond within 7 days.

Questions? Contact me — I usually reply the same day. See also the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
