A Dharamshala Website with Booking in Palitana — and Moving 4,800 Articles Without Losing Google
In short
After I redesigned JainSite — moving 4,800+ articles, 2,500+ tirths and every old link — the same client asked me to build Jainsite Bhavan's website and hotel management system in Palitana. Here's how both are built, and what pilgrims need from a dharamshala website.
Pilgrims coming to Palitana for the Shatrunjaya yatra plan around a few things: a clean room near the Taleti, a Jain meal, darshan, and getting to the climb early. Jainsite Bhavan offers all of that — AC deluxe and twin rooms, a Jain bhojanshala, jinalays inside the complex and a free car to Shatrunjaya Taleti. I'm building its website and hotel management system. It came after the JainSite redesign, where the job was the opposite: change everything people see, and nothing Google relies on.
What pilgrims look for first
The home page answers the questions before they're asked: rooms, check-in time (10 AM), the free car to Taleti, the bhojanshala, the jinalays in the complex — Adinath Dada in panchdhatu, the Sahastrakoot and a Samavasaran jinalay — and how far it is from the climb.
A stay-enquiry card sits right in the hero: check-in, check-out, guests and room type, or one tap to enquire on WhatsApp.

From website to hotel management system
The public site is the front desk. Behind it, the owner's admin panel grows into a full management system — bookings, rooms and day-to-day running of the property. The website is live in preview; the management system is about 60% done.
There's a Gujarati version, because many guests and their families read Gujarati first.
Local search for a pilgrimage town
People search “dharamshala near Shatrunjaya Taleti” or “Jain dharamshala Palitana”. The pages use those words naturally, and structured data carries the address, map coordinates, amenities and an FAQ. The site shows the Bhavan's 4.5 Google rating, and a complete Google Business Profile links guests from Maps.
How JainSite moved 4,800+ articles without losing Google
JainSite (jainsite.com, started in 2007) is a large Jain knowledge site. The redesign replaced an old WordPress setup with pop-up ads with an animated, mobile-first site in English, Hindi and Gujarati, full-size photos and a custom CMS.
The content moved over in full: 4,800+ articles, stavan, lyrics and e-books; 2,500+ tirths, temples and sthanaks; 800+ baby names. Every old URL redirects to its new page, so the rankings and links built over years carry across.

A site-move checklist that keeps rankings
- Export every old URL before you touch anything.
- Map each one to its new page — one-to-one, not everything to the home page.
- Use permanent (301) redirects and update internal links.
- Submit the new sitemap in Search Console and watch the indexing report for a few weeks.
- Keep the old domain and its redirects live.
Bringing guests in season
Demand for a dharamshala rises in yatra season and around Chaturmas. A small Meta ad that opens WhatsApp with the dates pre-filled reaches families planning the trip on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel shows which enquiries came from it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should a dharamshala website show first?
Rooms, check-in time, distance and transport to the temple or climb, meals, and a quick way to enquire — dates, guests and room type, or WhatsApp.
How do you redesign a large site without losing Google rankings?
Map every old URL to its new page with permanent redirects, keep internal links updated, submit the new sitemap and monitor Search Console's indexing report.
Where is Jainsite Bhavan?
In Palitana, Gujarat, near the Shatrunjaya hills, with a free car to Shatrunjaya Taleti.
