When Will My Website Show Up on Google? An Honest Answer
In short
Being on Google and ranking on Google are two different things. A new site can be found by its name within days once it's submitted; ranking for searches like “salon near me” takes weeks to months. Here's what I do on every site to speed up both, and what nobody can promise.
“Google par kab aayega?” usually means two different things, and it helps to separate them. Will Google know my website exists? That's indexing, and it can happen within days. Will my website come up when people search for what I sell? That's ranking, and it takes weeks to months. Google itself says some changes take effect in a few hours and others can take several months. Here's what I do on launch day to speed both up, using sites I've built as examples, and what anyone promising “first page in a week” isn't telling you.
Indexing: Google knowing your site exists
Google finds new pages by crawling links and reading sitemaps. On launch day I add the site to Google Search Console, submit its sitemap and check that every important page can be indexed — no accidental “noindex”, no blocked pages in robots.txt.
After that, searching your business name usually starts showing the site within days, though Google doesn't guarantee any timeline. Search Console's page indexing report shows exactly which pages are in and why any aren't.
Ranking: showing up for what people search
Ranking for searches like “unisex salon in Science City” or “laptop repair in Ahmedabad” depends on how well each page answers that search, how competitive it is, and how much Google trusts the site. A new domain starts with no history, so this part is measured in weeks and months, not days.
Google is clear that it doesn't accept payment to crawl a site more often or rank it higher. Anyone selling a guaranteed first-page position is selling something Google doesn't offer.
What I build in from day one
For Be U Smart Salon in Science City, Ahmedabad, the site went live with page titles and descriptions naming the area, BeautySalon structured data with the full address, map coordinates, phone and opening hours, FAQ structured data answering where the salon is and how to book, a sitemap, a robots file, and share cards for WhatsApp. The salon has since become my client for SEO / AEO / GEO and Meta Ads.

Pages for the places you serve
Local businesses get found area by area. On the One Click Computer store I'm building, titles and pages target Science City and 11 Ahmedabad areas — Bodakdev, Bopal, Gota, Navrangpura, Prahlad Nagar, Satellite, Shilaj, Sola, Thaltej, Vastrapur and more — plus delivery pages for six Gujarat cities. Each page answers a real local search instead of one homepage trying to rank for all of them.

Your Google Business Profile matters as much as the site
For “near me” searches and Google Maps, the Google Business Profile often shows before any website. Make sure it's claimed, verified, and has the same name, address and phone as the website. I link the two and check that the details match.
If you already have a site, don't lose what it has
An existing site has history Google already trusts. A redesign must keep it: on JainSite, old URLs redirect to their new pages so rankings and inbound links carry over. A new site that drops old URLs can disappear from searches it used to show up for.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take for a new website to appear on Google?
Once it's submitted through Google Search Console with a sitemap, a new site often appears for its business name within days. Google doesn't guarantee a timeline, and ranking for competitive searches takes weeks to months.
Can I pay Google to rank higher?
No. Google doesn't accept payment to crawl a site more often or rank it higher in organic results. Paid placement is Google Ads, which is separate.
Why isn't my website on Google yet?
Common reasons: it hasn't been submitted in Search Console, a noindex tag or robots.txt rule is blocking it, or it's too new. The page indexing report in Search Console shows which pages are indexed and why others aren't.
Is a Google Business Profile enough without a website?
It helps for Maps and “near me” searches, but a website gives Google — and AI answers — much more to understand and cite. They work best together.
